Messages from our members on why they plan to
make their voices heard on September 24

I support efforts to end this war because it is the announced prelude to others. Stopping this one will help prevent others and, hopefully, reverse the culture of fear and hate that the Bush administration is seeking to ingrain into the American people to further its ends. Ends which have nothing to do with national security.

This war was not, in fact, launched to protect U.S. citizens. Bush lied. It was launched to protect and extend the colonial holdings of the multinational oil companies -- entities whose only flag is profit, and that have had the Bush family (and Cheney and Rice and Rumsfeld...) on their payrolls for years.

Americans waged their first war AGAINST colonialism. What irony that they now get dragged into waging war FOR colonial interests!

Let's stop this madness. Immediately.

My reasons for supporting the rally on Saturday, September 24th is to add my voice to send a clear message to my government to make an immediate plan for the withdrawing of U.S. Troops from Iraq. My government has been making war on Iraq since the 1990 Gulf War, followed by an illegal imbargo and now this invasion based on the false pretense of ridding Saddam Hussein of weapons of mass destruction. We need to use our resources at home, particularly in light of the recent disaster wrought by Hurricane Katrina and an inept government, that failed to respond appropriately.

I ask you to join us, here in Rome, as we add our voices to similar protests in DC, LA, Seattle, Paris, London, Madrid...

Together we can be heard.

There is only one thing that strikes fear in the Bush administration, and that is public opinion. That's why they go to such lengths to lie to us and to control the media. And that's why it is imperative that we speak out against the war on Iraq.

The tide is turning. Many who initially supported the war are now having second thoughts if not actually coming out against it. This is especially true after it became blatantly obvious that our security is not a top priority during the man-made disaster on the Gulf Coast. It is time, once again, to send a strong message to Washington, D.C.

I'll be at the rally in Rome on September 24 to add my voice to the chorus of people around the world calling for an end to the bloodshed and to represent l'altra voce dell'America here in Italy.
