National Anti-racism March
Saturday, October 4, 2pm
Piazza della Repubblica

[ » See photos of the march ]

USC4P&J members have chosen to endorse and participate in the national STOPRAZZISMO demonstration.

It has been endorsed and will be attended by hundreds of other groups and individuals throughout Italy to protest increasing racial intolerance and growing anti-immigrant sentiment. You can read more in English, French and Spanish.

The demonstration will be held on Saturday, October 4. The march will begin at 2:00 p.m. in Piazza della Repubblica and end in Piazza Venezia with a concert. We'll meet in the piazza in front of the church (S. Maria degli Angeli) at 2:00 p.m. Look for our U.S. flag with the peace sign.

Organizers of this national demonstration say:

“It’s time to react against racism: against the racist mindset and the many acts of institutional and widespread racism... It’s time to react against all this so that we can all live better and with greater freedom. The measures proposed by Berlusconi’s government, whose draft law considers illegal migration a felony, worsen and fuel racism. Recognition of our common humanity can lead to a strong, direct and united mobilization aimed at affirming our sense of solidarity with and openness to welcoming all.”

We know all too well how racist and anti-immigrant rhetoric has been used in our own country to create a climate of fear, so let’s stand with Italians in denouncing it here!

A small working group has been formed and will meet one day early next week to plan ways in which we can make our mark on this important occasion. If you would like to participate in the working group and/or if you plan to attend the demonstration, please let us know: info@peaceandjustice.it

Please join us on October 4!

Upshot of our Nov. 9th group discussion on current politics:

It wasn't the Russians that got us Trump. Or Comey. Or even the massive GOP election fraud. It was the DNC.*

To learn how to stop the DNC from delivering us another Trump, read Autopsy: the Democratic Party in Crisis.

Iraq Deaths Estimator
Did someone tell you that U.S. military intervention in Iraq was over? Not true: we're at it again. This time the pretext to drop bombs is "curbing ISIS" (which was created by the U.S. in the first place, to overturn al-Malaki in Iraq and then Assad in Syria, and is now out of hand. Like what happened to "our" creature al Qaeda in Afghanistan). And the death toll continues to rise...
Write your senators and tell them: "Enough! U.S. out!! Iraq has shown it can curb ISIS by itself!"
