"WE VOTE FOR PEACE"

In Solidarity with the Sit-in at the White House organized by Cindy Sheehan for the Midterm Elections

[see photos]

Rome, Tuesday November 7, from 4pm to 6pm
Across from the U.S Embassy in via Veneto

On November 7, voters in the U.S. will go to the polls for the midterm elections. From November 6-9, Cindy Sheehan, Gold Star Families for Peace, Code Pink and other peace activists are organizing a four day sit-in in Washington D.C. to say no to the occupation of Iraq, no to military actions against Iran, no to torture, no matter who wins the elections. And also to remind Congress of its responsibilities.

On the agenda are plans to surround the White House, "get out the vote" actions, a vigil at the Vietnam Memorial, delivery of the Don't Attack Iran petition, actions at the Pentagon by military families and more. Across the U.S., there will be "Count Every Vote" vigils on election night outside nearly 30 County Election Offices.

In solidarity with activists in the U.S., on November 7 from 4 to 6pm, U.S. Citizens for Peace & Justice is organizing a protest in front of the U.S. Embassy in Rome to cast a symbolic vote for peace and specifically for:

  • The immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq;
  • A peaceful solution with Iran;
  • Respect for international laws;
  • An end to torture and secret prisons;
  • A strong reduction in military spending.

We urge all U.S. citizens and our international friends to join us in front of the embassy to cast your vote for peace.

For more information on the sit-in in Washington, D.C., see the Gold Star Families for Peace web site.

Upshot of our Nov. 9th group discussion on current politics:

It wasn't the Russians that got us Trump. Or Comey. Or even the massive GOP election fraud. It was the DNC.*

To learn how to stop the DNC from delivering us another Trump, read Autopsy: the Democratic Party in Crisis.

Iraq Deaths Estimator
Did someone tell you that U.S. military intervention in Iraq was over? Not true: we're at it again. This time the pretext to drop bombs is "curbing ISIS" (which was created by the U.S. in the first place, to overturn al-Malaki in Iraq and then Assad in Syria, and is now out of hand. Like what happened to "our" creature al Qaeda in Afghanistan). And the death toll continues to rise...
Write your senators and tell them: "Enough! U.S. out!! Iraq has shown it can curb ISIS by itself!"
