IMPEACH
Spelling It Out in Rome, Italy

On April 28, USC4P&J joined people across the U.S. in using creative ways to spell out the word IMPEACH to get the message across to Congress: Bush and Cheney have lied the nation into a war of aggression, are spying in open violation of the law, and have sanctioned the use of torture. These are high crimes and misdemeanors that demand accountability through the Constitutional mechanism of impeachment.

Rather that write our usual report on the event, we'll let you read all the comments we received, many to Flying Seven organizer, Gene. Enjoy!

HEY, GREAT PICS! DW

That was wonderful!  We had our own A28 at Faneuil Hall/Market here in Boston.  Terrific turnout.  But I would have preferred Rome.  Candace

It does seem like you had a lot of fun.  I loved the pictures of Rome...Hope all this work eventually succeeds! Love, Lil

Quite a day it must have been!  Jane

Wonderful photos. Thank you for sending them and nice to see that dear Alba is still well and enjoying herself.  Camille

Well U genius U!!!!!!!!!! You remain my favorite activist.....Loved the pix....I immediately spotted Dame Alba..... All in all, it looks like a huge sucess....I can't believe the ground you covered.....be proud...you did good.  John

OH MY GOD, HOW FABULOUS!  THE PHOTOS WERE OUTSTANDING.  I enjoyed each and every one.  Great seeing all the wonderful faces and places in bella Roma!   My daughter looked at a few of the photos and immediately said: I want to go back!  Why don't you move to Rome?   Hey, I'm packin'.............maddi

Dear Gene. The 'E' was a standout!  Wonderful work you're doing. Big hug, Simone

Well!!!!!  The old Unit Publicist was certainly in evidence in this endeavor. Great job on what appears to have been a beautiful day in Roma. Ron

I went through each and every one of them.  You guys certainly did the Rome "famous sites" tour.  Dale

Gene - you people are wonderful! We need more of that Impeachment Spirit here in the States!  Alberto is finito, we hope! - Mark

Lovely pix, dearie.  I especially like the 'impeachment fans' on the Spanish Steps, of course. There are three or so I'd like to have over late some night to talk politics . . .

Phabulous photos of the I-M-P-E-A-C-H crowd! So sorry I wasn't there. David C.

Eugenio caro. What a real treat.  Would have loved being part of it.  Especially the Alba part.  I love you for including me in all this.  XX  Giovan.

Thanks for sending the pics along ... loved them. You guys know how to protest and still have fun! Tommaso

Absolutely terrific!  I do wish that we could have been  with you.  Also, you look so very HANDSOME!  I am delighted to have a  photo of you and have put it into my iPhoto Library. Keep up the good  work! I have signed about five or six impeachment sites recently. It  may not work, but we must keep trying.  So many Republicans have turned against The Chimp. Much love and very, very well done!!  diana

Eugenio! Complimenti on "IMPEACH."  Very impressive.  Who conceived it?  I've signed in for newsletters telling your gang that I come to them "via Gene Rizzo," which will probably result in your being cashiered.  Bruno

Just looked at the pictures again. Loved 'em all ...  most around my old stomping ground, Campo de' Fiori, Ponte Sisto, etc.  Didn't know Dame Alba lived on Via Giulia.   Back to site to watch video....C.   Later - I sent your site to numerous people I feel would be interested.  One co-worker said "Italy's a truly free country; try doing that most anywhere in the USA and you would be arrested…."  I wonder if you guys appreciate that fact?  C.

yeah super-cool, very creative [cappuccinos!] and looks like you guys had fun too!  has anyone from the US or IT press picked up on it?  would be great to get a story on the wires or on TV...  Laura

Bravo, Gino! Thanks for sharing the pics. Would love to have been there. You guys are WONDERFUL . It's great to see the tide turning. Can't wait to say goodbye to the rotten administration with all its deception and destruction. Even their own party are joining against them. Maybe there IS a God and hopefully, justice will be served.    Thank you and your brave friends who aren't afraid to confront i bastardi .   Incidentally, the weather looked like it was beautiful in Rome.  Great day for a demonstration.   Take care,  mio amico. E grazie . Frank

hey, just checked out the other (second) batch of photos and the video too. It looks like so much fun, good work (and you take a good pic, my dear!). Off to the US, see ya in 2 weeks????  xoxo L.

Very interesting your photos on Impeachment Day.- You are all really working so hard on this good cause. Is this happening in other European capitals too? I wonder if the message is getting back home; I looked in the New York Times to see if there was something but didn't see it. I'm afraid we'll have to put up with him for another couple of years (actually less). Keep me posted and good luck! Anna

Dear Gene:  WOW!  Absolutely TERRIFIC!  What a great action taken and what a fine, fine video by your friend Michael. I was transfixed - plus the background music was so perfect, and one of my total favourites!!  Oh my. What a great job you are all doing.  I will send the video on to many friends. Elisabeth

Gene, the cappuccinos for IMPEACH are the very best!  It is great to see you, and also so many shots of Rome. A great big bear hug for you and the other impeachers!  Carol

Way to go, Michael.. and TUTTI ! Gretchen

Thanks for the update on Impeachment Day. You guys were all over the place! Love the roving testimonial approach.

Great job to you all...I am impressed! Cheney and Bush and Condoleeza Rice and Wolfowitz and Pearle and Gonzalez and Rumsfeld and the whole bunch of them are criminals ALL IN THE NAME OF OIL!!!

I want to THANK YOU!!! for your broad and imaginative participation in a28 and our mutual effort to IMPEACH an extremely unlawful (IMO, treasonous) Executive in the U.S.

I want to congratulate the people who went to the impeachment rally in Rome. I just want to say that it is so encouraging to see what an impact a simple project with only 7 participants can make! ... Seeing something like the impeach signs in Rome gives us a boost!

I love the pictures that you have sent ( anti bush/war) Keep up the good work!!!!!! xmary

Iraq Deaths Estimator
Did someone tell you that U.S. military intervention in Iraq was over? Not true: we're at it again. This time the pretext to drop bombs is "curbing ISIS" (which was created by the U.S. in the first place, to overturn al-Malaki in Iraq and then Assad in Syria, and is now out of hand. Like what happened to "our" creature al Qaeda in Afghanistan). And the death toll continues to rise...
Write your senators and tell them: "Enough! U.S. out!! Iraq has shown it can curb ISIS by itself!"
